Starting a business is an accomplishment, but at Create Foundation, we believe in something deeper – the audacity to grant yourself permission to stand out, innovate, and make your mark in the world of entrepreneurship.

We sat down with five young entrepreneurs for a chat and a coffee, provided by the community-driven brand Clued-Up Coffee, to come together in a celebration of entrepreneurship and learn more about each individual's journey. These trailblazers didn't just start businesses; they embraced their uniqueness and redefined success.

Their stories echo a resounding theme: the true magic happens when you allow yourself to be authentically you. Each shared a unified lesson - that striving for success alone is not enough to keep you going on the days you feel like giving up. Instead, connecting to a deeper mission will give you a continued sense of purpose that drives you forward. Success is a byproduct of being bold enough to go out and test your products, discover your audience, and, most importantly, by first giving yourself permission.

Abigail - Founder of A.M.A

  • A.M.A is an up and coming accessories brand most known for its signature mini solstice totes. In the midst of a global pandemic, Abigail, a graduate from the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), found herself navigating a world undergoing unprecedented change. In response to the changing landscape around her, Abigail embarked on a journey of self-reflection, examining every facet of life and self-identity. The realisation that societal expectations often leads individuals to conform in ways that compromise their authenticity ignited a desire to ignite change. Taking inspiration from her own journey and the influence of strong women around her, Abigail wanted to use the power of design to empower others to live authentically by spreading a powerful message - be confidently comfortable in your own skin. This is the value that A.M.A is built on.

A.M.A’s solstice bags are available in a range of beautiful colours, from autumnal reds and romantic pastels, to vibrant purples, blue’s, and greens. These mini totes make a big statement, because to carry an A.M.A tote is to carry yourself with love and acceptance. We first met Abigail at our Create Showcase Market in POP Brixton, where her positive energy and wisdom beyond her years became an inspiration to the team and those around her. Abigail embodies the definition of what it means to give yourself permission in the purest form, because she utilised her skills set to inspire others and create the change she wants to see in the world.

Sorrel (the name given to the hibiscus flower in the Carribbean) is known for its sharp, citrusy flavour, and is used as a base in juices and smoothies because of its many health benefits. It is a powerful antioxidant that has been used within traditional medicine for centuries because of its ability to reduce high blood pressure, cleanse the liver, and aid the body in detoxifying.

In a world that is becoming increasingly aware of the damaging effects of many convenience foods and drinks, Soso Sorrel provides a healthy, refreshing alternative that is the perfect option to grab and go for everyone (regardless of age or background) who prioritises their health.
