What is the Black Creators Residency?

Every 3 months we will platform a new group of creative talents, to provide them the recognition their talents deserve. The residency consists of a series of events, promotions as well as a space to sell work at our Brixton shop.

Why are we hosting a residency?

Because talent without opportunity is unrealised. While talent is everywhere, opportunity is not as fairly distributed. Its time to shine a light on the exciting and diverse array of young black creators who are emerging across London.

How does it work?

Our Black Creators Residency gives a select number of local, young, aspiring creatives to bring their work in the public consciousness. We host a fair or exhibition to kick-off the residency and then allocated space in both our physical and online stores over a 3 month period. These cohorts will be categorised to allow a range of talents to be exhibited, details of each residency period will be on our social media platforms. Applications are prioritised for those aged 16-26 based in London.

What is the art fair?

The Black Creators Art Fair is an opportunity for our communities to interact and support local artists taking part in the residency. Our art fair will take place inside the Pop Box at our Pop Brixton location on the 24th April, where you can expect to see an illustrious collection of work curated by talented artists followed by curated music from our DJ. Pieces will exhibited and available to purchase on the day. Click below to apply!
